Plopsaland Belgium announces record investment with Flying Cinema as the main highlight

30 September 2025

Plopsaland Belgium is investing no less than 25 million euros in the construction of Plopsaland Plaza, the largest expansion in the park’s history. The new complex, opening in 2027, will include a brand-new attraction, the Grand Café, a bowling alley, and the main station of the iconic Plopsa Express. The absolute highlight will be the Flying Cinema — the first of its kind in Europe — where visitors can literally soar across the continent alongside Maya the Bee.

Plopsaland Plaza will become the new central meeting point of the park. The complex combines experience, gastronomy, and entertainment all in one location. Visitors will discover a brand-new and spectacular attraction, the atmospheric Grand Café serving classics such as beef stew and steak tartare, the bowling alley, and the return of the iconic Plopsa Express, the train that runs through the park, with a completely new station.

Flying Cinema as the main highlight

The absolute highlight of Plopsaland Plaza will be a Flying Cinema by Mack Rides. In a moving gondola, visitors virtually glide through an immense dome screen, creating the illusion of truly flying. During the day, guests will take a flight across Europe together with Maya the Bee. In the evening, other cinematic experiences will be offered, exclusively for overnight guests and the evening audience of Plopsaland Plaza.

Visitors will soon be able to take a flight across Europe together with Maya. It is truly special that we can connect a character that appeals to so many generations with an innovative attraction. That makes the experience even more powerful. Who would have ever thought you could actually fly with Maya?

Gert Verhulst, CEO Studio 100

This is a milestone in the history of Plopsaland. We have never invested on such a large scale before. With Plopsaland Plaza, we aim not only to attract 2 million visitors per year but above all to strengthen our position as one of Europe’s leading leisure resorts.

Carl Lenaerts, CEO Plopsa

With Plopsaland Plaza, the park is taking the next step in developing into a full-fledged resort. By 2027, visitors will find a complete offering: from attractions and evening shows to a water park, hotel, and holiday accommodations. Thanks to the Flying Cinema, the new Grand Café, the bowling alley, and the central meeting square, everything will come together for the first time in one location.
